Here you can find details of all the courses CHESS has to offer. Further down the page you can find details of extra-curricular teams and work study placements.

All courses are 5 credits; if the course includes a lab or practical aspect this adds an extra 5 credits, i.e. if a class is listed as 10 credits it includes a practical class. A student may take up to 4 courses per year, earning a maximum possible total of 40 points per year.

To achieve a General Certificate (equivalent to a Muggle Bachelor’s degree) a student will need to achieve at least 80 credits over 4 years of study. This is the minimum required to gain entry to the Society of Sorcerers. More ambitious students may aim for an Advanced Certificate (equivalent to an Honors degree), which requires a minimum of 100 credits over four years.
